Te Kāhui Kaiako Reo Māori o Te Whanganui-a-Tara

Te Kāhui Kaiako Reo Māori o Te Whanganui-a-Tara is an existing regional cluster with members from Ōtaki College, TKKM o Te Rito, and Whakatupuranga Rua Mano.  One of the purposes of the kāhui is to provide a forum for professional development and support, with pedagogy as the focus, for kaiako reo Māori in the region.

Key Areas of Focus

  • Increase the repertoire of language teaching strategies for whakarongo, kōrero, pānui and tuhituhi.
  • Share Māori language teaching and learning resources, including assessment tasks, that have proved effective in the classroom.
  • Share individual expertise for the collective good.
