Ako Panuku Travel and Accommodation Policy

 

 

Registrations must be received at least 3 weeks prior to the start date of the course if participants require travel and accommodation assistance. 

 

Late cancellations or non-attendance will incur a cost.
 

Regional Workshops

“Regional workshop” refers to a workshop held in multiple locations.

  • Participants are expected to register for their closest workshop.
  • If a teacher registered with Ako Panuku enrols for a workshop that is not closest to their location, Ako Panuku will only cover travel and accommodation to a total amount equivalent to attending the nearest workshop. The participant will need to cover all other costs.
  • For a registered Ako Panuku teacher attending their closest workshop, Ako Panuku will cover:
    • Rental car or reimbursement for mileage (whichever is most cost efficient). Only mileage over 60kms is reimbursed, at a rate of 50c/km.
    • Full cost of air travel travel if required.
    • Transfers to and from airport where required.
    • 1 night’s accommodation (twin share, at a venue organised by Ako Panuku) for 1-day workshops if travelling more than 2 hours’ drive from the workshop location or if required as a result of flight times.
    • Accommodation (twin share, at a venue organised by Ako Panuku) and meals for 2-day or 3-day workshops (including a series of 1 day workshops in the same location) for participants who live more than 1 hour away.
    • If a participant prefers single room accommodation, they are expected to cover 50% of the accommodation cost.
  • If meals are required, daily allowance maximums are:
    • Dinner $45/person excl. alcohol (or set buffet price)
    • Lunch (organised by Ako Panuku)
    • Breakfast $25/person (or set buffet price).
  • No travel or accommodation will be covered by Ako Panuku for any attendee that is not a registered Ako Panuku member.

 

 

National Workshops

“National workshops” are held in only one location and open to all Ako Panuku teachers.

Ako Panuku will cover the following travel and accommodation costs for an Ako Panuku teacher enrolled in a national workshop:

  • Rental car or reimbursement for mileage (whichever is most cost efficient). Only mileage over 60kms is reimbursed, at a rate of 50c/km.
  • Full cost of air travel travel, if required.
  • Transfers to and from airport where required.
  • 1 night’s accommodation (twin share, at a venue organised by Ako Panuku) for 1-day workshops if travelling more than 2 hours’ drive from the workshop location or if required as a result of flight times.

If a participant wishes to extend their stay at a location for any reason, Ako Panuku will only cover the accommodation and travel costs directly related to attending the workshop. Any additional cost must be paid by the participant. In these cases, Ako Panuku may require the participant to organise their own travel and accommmodation and seek reimbursement.
