The no. of standards, credits and mode of assessment varies for each NCEA subject

20 credits per NCEA subject, 50/50 split internal and external

10 credits Literacy, 10 credits Numeracy attained through either AS or US.  A student can still gain NCEA without Literacy and Numeracy

Specific Literacy and Numeracy standards drafted, externally assessed only.  Credits do not contribute to the 60 credits required to attain NCEA
